The Volunteer Mentor Program matches young people with adult mentors. Volunteers and young people commit to spending at least two hours a week together for one year.
Works with young people who have been court ordered to complete community service hours in order to pay back the community for inappropriate behavior.
Gives first time offenders an opportunity to take responsibility for their actions through an alternative court program. Youth are tried and sentenced by a jury of their peers. Fellow students take on the roles of attorneys, clerk, bailiff, and jurors to conduct these proceedings.
Volunteers for Youth’s newest program, Every Girl Counts, brings together middle school girls and empowers them through a life skills curriculum that fosters pride, self-esteem and a sense of achievement.
Volunteers for Youth is excited to announce that UNC head football coach Larry Fedora will be hosting our next golf tournament which will be held in the spring of 2014.
