Golf Tournament
Hubert Davis Charity Golf Tournament
The annual Volunteers For Youth (VFY) Golf Tournament fundraiser has been a wonderful way for the community to show its support for VFY and the special group projects and
activities for the at-risk youth who are in our programs.
Hubert Davis, a former UNC basketball standout and current ESPN analyst, is an enthusiastic advocate for local children and Volunteers for Youth is honored to be associated with him.
We had wonderful weather and Carolina blue skies for the tournament on September 21, 2009. Around 100 golfers came and played a fun day of golf at UNC Finley Golf Course. Players also enjoyed participating in the raffle after the tournament and the on-course Putting and Guess-Your-Yardage contests
The night before the tournament a Reception and Silent Auction was held at Studio 91
in Meadowmont Village.
This event featured delicious food and wine provided by Studio 91 and a silent auction on a number of UNC ticket packages, a vacation getaway and other items.
We would like to thank our sponsors and donors for helping VFY to raise around $20,000. All of the money raised goes directly into programming for Orange County Youth.
We would also especially thank Hubert and Leslie Davis for all of their support and help over the past three years of their involvement with Volunteers For Youth.
